Call 616-399-9932 to schedule an appointment. We test every weekday from 9 am to 5 pm (4pm in winter), and Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm.
Automobile Road Test fee is $39 (cash or check -- ne credit or debit cards)
Re-test fee is $30 to reschedule applicants who fail either the Basic Skills or Drivers Skills sections. Minimum wait time to re-test is 24 hours.

For Those Under 18 years of age:
Proper ID (a school ID will work)
Level I Learners Permit (this document contains the applicant's drivers license number). Applicant must have had this document for a minimum of 180 days before we can conduct the test.
Segment II document (white with red numbers)
Vehicle registration and proof of insurance documents. (Must be current).
A parent or guardian must ride along on the test, but no other passengers are allowed

For Those 18 years and Over:
Proper ID
Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP) Applicant must wait 30 days to test unless the Secretary of State office "waives" the requirement, which they will note on the Permit.
For applicants with a valid foreign drivers license, the Secretary of State office may issue a "One Cent Receipt" instead of the TIP. We will then need to also see the foreign drivers license.
Vehicle registration and proof of insurance documents(must be current).

VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS
We DO NOT provide (or rent) vehicles. You do not have to own the vehicle you use for testing, but it MUST be in proper working condition with a valid vehicle registration and proof of insurance.
Please make sure these areas of your vehicle are in proper working condition:
The Horn, front and back turn signals, and left, right and center brake lights.
Brakes, Headlights, Speedometer, Seatbelts
Tires have no belts exposed and no more than 1 missing lug nut per tire (2 per vehicle)
Winshield (and wipers/washers if conditions require)
Left outside mirror and inside rearview mirror
No fluid leaks, defective exhaust/muffler, suspension, doors (open from both inside/outside),
heater/defroster, and fuel level (we don't want to run out of gas!)

Our friendly and experienced staff will try to make your driving test a stress-free experience. We have both male and female testers and can administer the test in Spanish, if needed.
